Workout:
5x7 Cycle Lunge Jump (going for max vert each jump)
5x7 Box Jump 36" box
5x7 Side-to-Side lateral box jump
5x7 lateral hop
The increase in reps and box high added almost enough intenisty to this workout. I have been thinking about polymetric training a bit too and wonder if I would get more out of complex training. Complex training is when you combine a "slow" strength lift, with a complementary explosive movement. Something like Deadlifts and box jumps. Apparently the combo will increase strength and power more than training them individually. It's an idea for the next macro cycle. I really want to stay focused on this planed periodiaztion schedule to actually see if it works or no. I have a tendency to change things up too fast.
This evening I did my "medium" endurance work.
3x 15' at 80% HR 152, 5' rest between efforts.
Haha. Look at that split! Oh well. Apparently my HR monitor didn't pick up the hear rate on round 2, but taking an avg of what is available, 151 avg HR. I was all over the board on this one. Split time erratic, HR erratic. I will have plenty of practice during this meso-cycle so it's all good.
