Strength

Very uncreative today.
5x3 at 85% 1RM Push Jerk - 175#

I didn't find a new max before starting, I'm going from on old max effort a few months back. Tate says this is one of the problems with using percentages and that a theoretical max is better. Based on a few attempts how much do you think you could lift today? The more advanced you are the more accurate this is going to be.

I have this nagging fear in my mind about my back. Jerk was what did me in the first time back in June. Actually, going for a max effort, in this same exact situation...fear that I will get the same result again. I based my numbers from that effort back in June at 205 or so. The last couple rounds were tough. At reps of 3, the charts show that I should be at >90%, but on these smaller muscle groups that is really intense and impossible for me at this time. Reading OPT's blog and just thinking it through, it seems like either a neurological thing (fiber recuritment) and/or I am mentally weak.

The rumor right now is that sectionals for the Games is coming up in Feb. I was shocked to hear this because I was expecting the sectionals to be quite a bit later giving me some more time to rehab and get my strength back. I am going to have to change up the planned schedule now and focus on the 2 areas of my greatest concern. Strength and Power/Endurance. I am going to change the planned schedule to 4 week cycles of Strength and P/E starting in Nov. I'll finish out the month and start Nov with P/E. Lots of IWT's! Great.

It makes me very nervous and anxious to have sectionals this close. I hope that I still have enough time to make a decent show at sectionals.
