I did my tabata set though and here are the results:
Avg 1:33.0/500m
I was tighter on all 7 rounds this time but there were 3 occasions that my pace started to slip up to 1:34 and change.
So far so good, but as pointed out to me yesterday, the fun will start next week. This is going to start to really suck in weeks 2-4 especially and if it's anything like the V-Diet the last week I will keep telling myself that I've done enough and to just end the experiment. That week is very mentally tough. I hope that my vO2 max and lactate threshold improve enough during the 6 weeks that these get easier and when I retest my 2k and body comp it shows.
